GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
The rental of a camping pitch, rental accommodation or B&B room implies full acceptance by the contracting parties of the terms and conditions set out below.
BOOKING CONDITIONS
Mas Cauvy offers traditional, family-oriented stays. Mas Cauvy reserves the right to refuse any booking that is contrary to this spirit or seeks to circumvent it.
All bookings are made for a fixed period corresponding to the dates confirmed at the time of booking. Guests have no right to remain on the premises beyond this period unless expressly agreed by Mas Cauvy.
A booking option is valid for 7 days from the date it is sent, subject to the applicable payment deadlines and how close the booking is to the arrival date. For bookings made shortly before arrival, the payment deadline may be reduced.
If the booking is not confirmed within this period, the option will automatically expire. The booking becomes final only after written confirmation from Mas Cauvy and receipt of the booking deposit.
Guests may indicate preferences when making a booking. Mas Cauvy will endeavour to meet such requests whenever possible but cannot guarantee them.
To ensure the proper management of bookings, Mas Cauvy reserves the right to make the final allocation of the camping pitch, rental accommodation or room. Mas Cauvy also reserves the right, without any entitlement to compensation, to replace the originally allocated pitch, accommodation or room with an equivalent or higher-capacity alternative. In such cases, the price of the stay will remain unchanged.
Bookings are strictly personal and may not be sublet or transferred to a third party without the prior agreement of the campsite.
Minors must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
Camping pitches
The basic Nature Package includes a camping pitch for a tent, caravan or motorhome for 1 or 2 people, 1 car, and access to the sanitary facilities and shared campsite facilities.
Additional charges (extra person, extra vehicle, additional tent, pet, etc.) are not included in the basic package and will be charged separately.
The Comfort Package corresponds to the Nature Package with a 6-amp electricity connection (1,380 watts).
A camping pitch can accommodate a maximum of 6 people, including young children.
Rental accommodation
Prices include the number of guests permitted according to the accommodation capacity (2 to 5 people), water, gas, electricity, one vehicle, and access to the shared facilities and sanitary facilities.
Bed linen is compulsory and is not included. Towels are also not included. Both can be hired in advance.
The campsite reserves the right to refuse access to groups or families arriving with more people than the maximum capacity of the rented accommodation.
All rental accommodation is non-smoking. Smoking and the use of electronic cigarettes are prohibited inside the accommodation.
Any damaged or missing equipment must be reported promptly to reception.
B&B rooms
Prices include the number of guests permitted according to the room capacity (2 to 5 people), as well as access to Mas Cauvy’s facilities, including use of the summer kitchen near reception.
Bed linen and towels are included, and beds are made for your arrival.
Breakfast is included in the price and is served every morning between 8.30 am and 9.30 am on the terrace near reception or inside the reception area, depending on weather conditions.
Smoking is prohibited in the rooms, on the balcony and on the terrace of the house.
Group bookings
Multiple bookings made by the same person, or by several people who know each other and are travelling together for the same dates and purpose, are considered group bookings. All group booking requests must be made directly to the campsite by telephone or email.
The campsite reserves the right to review the request before accepting or refusing it.
Prices
The applicable prices are those in force for the relevant stay dates at the time of booking. Camping pitch prices are based on a nightly rate, while weekly rates may also apply to rental accommodation and B&B rooms. All prices are quoted in euros and include VAT. Mas Cauvy reserves the right to adjust its prices in the event of changes to taxes or VAT rates.
Tourist tax and environmental contribution
Tourist tax is a local tax payable by the guest to the accommodation provider, who then pays it to the French authorities. It is €0.22 per night and per person aged 18 or over for camping pitches and rental accommodation, and €0.77 for B&B rooms.
The environmental contribution contributes towards the costs of waste management and environmental protection. The amount is calculated per person per day. Tourist tax and the environmental contribution are shown separately on the invoice.
Bookings through online travel agencies (OTA)
For bookings made through an online travel agency or booking platform (OTA), the specific terms and conditions of that platform apply and take precedence over these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
PAYMENT FOR YOUR STAY
1) Accepted payment methods
Payments may be made in cash or by bank transfer in euros.
Payment by bank card may also be offered as part of an online booking or through a secure payment link, particularly in order to secure the booking. Outside these situations, the other payment methods are preferred.
Any bank transfer charges, particularly for transfers from countries outside the EEA, are entirely the responsibility of the payer.
2) Payment terms
The booking deposit must be paid within 7 days of receiving the booking option email, either by bank transfer or by bank card when a secure online payment option is offered. After this period, the booking option will automatically expire.
Booking deposit: 30% of the total cost of the stay, with a minimum of €100 for camping pitches and a minimum of one night for rental accommodation and B&B rooms.
Payment of the remaining balance:
- for camping pitches: no later than the day of arrival;
- for rental accommodation and B&B rooms: 30 days before the arrival date;
- for rental accommodation and B&B rooms booked 30 days or less before the arrival date: the full cost of the stay is payable at the time of booking.
If the remaining balance or full amount due is not paid within the required deadline, the booking will be considered cancelled.
The booking becomes final only after receipt of the required payment and written confirmation from Mas Cauvy.
3) Security deposit – rental accommodation
A security deposit of €150 may be requested on arrival for rental accommodation. The security deposit must be paid in cash.
It will be refunded no later than eight days after departure, less any costs incurred for repairs, replacement of damaged or missing equipment, or cleaning where applicable.
CANCELLATION – CHANGES
All requests for cancellation or changes to a booking must be made in writing.
1) Cancellation by the guest
In the event of cancellation, regardless of the date, the booking deposit paid will be retained by Mas Cauvy.
Camping pitches
In the event of cancellation on the day before arrival, on the scheduled arrival date, or in the event of a no-show, the full cost of the stay remains payable.
Rental accommodation and B&B rooms
In the event of cancellation 30 days or less before the scheduled arrival date, the full cost of the stay remains payable and will be retained by Mas Cauvy.
Guests are advised to take out cancellation insurance covering the risks associated with cancellation or interruption of their stay.
2) Cancellation by Mas Cauvy
Except in cases of force majeure, all amounts paid will be refunded in full. The guest will not be entitled to any additional compensation.
3) Late arrival – early departure – shortened stay
No discount or refund will be granted in the event of late arrival, early departure, or absence for one or more days during the stay.
If the stay is shortened for any reason, the price corresponding to the full period originally booked remains payable and will be retained by Mas Cauvy.
4) No-show
If the guest does not arrive on the scheduled arrival date and has not sent written notice of a delay before the latest arrival time (7.00 pm, or 6.30 pm during the low season), the booking will be considered cancelled. Any amounts already paid will be retained by Mas Cauvy.
The camping pitch, rental accommodation or room may be re-let from 12 noon the following day, without the guest being entitled to a refund or transfer of the booking.
YOUR STAY
1) Arrival
Arrival is possible from 3.00 pm for camping pitches and from 4.00 pm for rental accommodation and B&B rooms, until 7.00 pm (6.30 pm during the low season).
Any late arrival must be notified in advance.
2) During your stay
Electricity
Access to electricity on camping pitches requires an extension lead and a standard European CEE plug. For safety reasons, it is strictly prohibited to connect or charge an electric vehicle using the electrical outlets provided on camping pitches or in rental accommodation.
Liability and insurance
The guest declares that they have third-party liability insurance covering their own liability and that of the people accompanying them.
Children remain under the full responsibility of their parents or accompanying adults while at Mas Cauvy. Access to and use of the swimming pool is entirely at the guest’s own responsibility.
Mas Cauvy accepts no liability for theft, loss or damage to personal belongings, or for material damage or personal injury suffered by property or persons present on the premises. Mas Cauvy cannot be held responsible for incidents falling under the guest’s own personal liability.
All guests must comply with Mas Cauvy’s internal rules and swimming pool rules. Failure to comply with these rules may result in removal from the premises without refund.
Visitors
All visitors must be declared at reception. Visitors and additional vehicles are charged according to the applicable rates. For insurance reasons, visitors are strictly prohibited from using the swimming pool. The guest is responsible for any disturbance or nuisance caused by people staying with them or visiting them.
Cleanliness – condition of the accommodation
The guest agrees to leave the rental accommodation, B&B room or camping pitch in good condition at the end of the stay and to report any damage for which they are responsible. Any damage must be paid for.
Camping pitches must be left clean and free of rubbish.
Rental accommodation must be left tidy, clean and in good condition. If the accommodation is not adequately cleaned, a cleaning charge of €50 may be charged or deducted from the security deposit.
For B&B rooms, cleaning is included in the price of the stay.
3) Departure
Any outstanding charges relating to the stay must be paid no later than the day before departure.
Camping pitches must be vacated by 11.00 am at the latest. Rental accommodation and B&B rooms must be vacated by 10.30 am at the latest. A late departure may result in the charge of an additional night.
PETS
Dogs classified as Category 1 or Category 2 under French regulations are not permitted. Other pets may be accepted with prior approval and subject to an additional charge. They must be kept on a lead, must not enter the sanitary facilities or swimming pool area, and must never be left unattended. Vaccinations must be up to date. Pets are not permitted in rental accommodation or B&B rooms, with the exception of assistance dogs.
PRIVACY AND PERSONAL DATA
Information provided at the time of booking is treated confidentially. It is only shared with service providers and partners where necessary for the management of the booking, stay or payment, in accordance with applicable personal data protection regulations. Under applicable legislation, guests have the right to access, correct and object to the processing of their personal data.
CAMPSITE RULES
The campsite rules are displayed at reception, available on request and can also be viewed on the website. All guests agree to read and comply with these rules. Failure to comply may result in termination of the booking.
COMPLAINTS – MEDIATION
Any complaint must be made in writing within 20 days following the stay. It must be sent by post or by registered post with acknowledgement of receipt.

APPLICABLE LAW – LANGUAGE
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale are governed by French law. In the event of a translation, only the French version is legally binding.
