We offer a small campsite of 25 sites around an old farmhouse. Although the farm is no longer active, Mas Cauvy has kept its rustic and authentic spirit.
Between Alès and Anduze in the Gard, very close to the Cevennes, come and enjoy a return to nature, in a tranquil and relaxing setting.
If you want a family friendly atmosphere, without animation, then this rural camping is for you!

A dry and sunny climate
The sun is one of the great strengths of the region. We have an exceptional climate, hot and dry, ideal for holidays. With 300 days of sunshine a year, the Gard will bring you softness and warmth!
Between town and countryside
The Mas Cauvy is in the countryside, but only 2km from the centre of Saint-Christol-lès-Alès and several supermarkets.
Our farm campsite in the Cevennes is close to Alès or Anduze where you will find animation, shops, markets etc…
Between see and mountains
The campsite has a central location. You can easily radiate in the Gard and the Cevennes.
The Mediterranean Sea is only 70km.
Close to the main axes, you can enjoy a quick access to numerous excursions and sightseeing, such as the National Park of the Cevennes, now registered in the world Patrimoine of UNESCO, the Bambouseraie, the Pont du Gard, Uzès, etc…

Space and Quiet
At the Mas Cauvy, we favor your tranquility. Our 28 pitches are large and well spaced from each other, without the strict delimitations of big campsites. This allows nature to regenerate during the closing period.
Places for all tastes
In our small campsite, each pitch is different: there are for all tastes, small tents, large family tents, caravans, with or without electricity, very shady or “shade and sun”.

Shade and sun
Pitches have shade or sun depending on the time of day. The amount of shade is different depending on the number and location of trees on each pitch.
The view
These places offer an open view. This view is different depending on locations, usually on the surrounding fields or mountains.
Places in the wood
Shade
The pitches in the wood are in the shade most of the day. Those at the edge of the wood enjoy sun in the morning.
Privacy
Trees and bushes of the wood offer you intimacy from your neighbors.

Places with a view
Located on the heights of Saint-Christol-lès-Alès, our small campsite dominates the surrounding cultures and offers a superb panorama on the chain of the southern Cevennes. With a clear view to the West, we often have the chance to have beautiful sunsets on the mountains!
We have some places with a view of the fields or the Cevennes.
These places are very much in demand. It is a real pleasure to be able to admire the cevennes on getting up in the morning, or to have an aperitif at sunset!

Our other locations also have their strengths and we always try to meet your needs the best we can.
- Close to the farm you will be close to the children’s playground and the swimming pool.
- In the wood you will have more shade and intimacy
- In the field, you will enjoy the view and more sunshine
For those who prefer a lot of privacy, we even have locations (without electricity) that will make you feel alone in the countryside!

For families with small children
The Mas Cauvy Campsite is ideal for families with young children. It is away from main roads and surrounded by fields. Children can play freely and safely.
There are few pitches in our small campsite. The Mas Cauvy has a friendly and family atmosphere. Kids make friends easily and play together.
On the other hand, even in the middle of summer, the campsite is always quiet. That is an advantage that we are particularly keen on. Our campers share our values and are respectful of others.
For couples and singles
Open from April 1st to the end of September, we welcome in off season many couples in search of tranquility.
This is an ideal time to come camping as :
- It’s nice but not too hot.
- You avoid the crowd of tourists
- The price is more interesting than in the high season.

Our story
From farm campsite to “aire naturelle”
The campsite du Mas Cauvy has been in existence since 1975.
It all started with a very small farm campsite and cold water in the shower. The farm activity of the family was based mainly on fruits and vegetables. The farm is now no longer active but you will find all the characteristics of an authentic cevennes farm.
We have also used the existing buildings to create the washing facilities, in particular in the barn.
This campsite will surely remind you of your childhood or your holiday in your grandparents’farm. We want to keep our family camping small and friendly and hope you will enjoy our values of simplicity and authenticity.
Our values
Our guests love the rustic and authentic side of our little campsite. So you will not find mobil homes at our place, only tents and caravans.
We are particularly concerned about the environment. We have for example sanitation by phyto purification (filtration by plants). The selective sorting of waste is used on the campsite. We also ask you to be vigilant in your water consumption, which here is rare and precious.
Our welcome is simple and benevolent, as we would with friends. It is important to us that you are satisfied with your stay so do not hesitate to come to us for any issue.
The future of our little campsite
We have embarked on a major renovation process. Each year, we plan work for your safety and comfort.
In 2018, we set up a play area for children that complies with the standards in force. We have also installed a common barbecue, as charcoal barbecues are not allowed on the pitches.
In 2019, we renovated part of the sanitary facilities and we planted around ten additional trees for the sunniest locations. The reception of people with disabilities is now provided with a new disabled toilet and access ramps.
In 2020 we renovated the small sanitary block located in the heavily wooded part of the campsite and implemented government measures against covid (dispenser of hydroalcoholic gel, disinfectant sprays, etc.)
In 2021, we renovated the barn near the reception and completed the renovation of the last sanitary facilities. We have changed all the deckchairs in the pool, for stronger and more comfortable models.
2 magnificent safari tents have arrived to satisfy glamping enthusiasts!
New tree plantations have also been made to prepare for the future: mulberry trees, melias, ash trees and hackberry trees will provide you with beautiful shade in a few years.
For 2022, the reception building has been renovated. There has been planting again, some adjustments to the playground and zipline to improve child safety.
In 2023, the big project for this winter was the renovation of the swimming pool. We have also planted trees and installed 2 new safari tents, including 1 for 2 people.
